Robert Starke
Dr. Robert Starke is a researcher at the Laboratory of Environmental Microbiology within the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
He obtained his master thesis about metabolomics of anaerobic aromatic compound decomposition at the Helmholtz Centre of Environmental Sciences in Leipzig, Germany.
He then obtained his PhD at the University of Hohenheim where he started with metaproteomics of a simple anaerobic community.
After a research stay at the national lab EMSL in Richland, USA about metametabolomics of complex communities, Robert moved to Prague in 2018.
Throughout his career, he also focused on soil and he is now working on the decomposition of microbial biomass in soil where he combines metabolomics with stable isotope probing.
